In Battambang, there are few temples to visit. These temples are unfortunately badly damaged but if you like stone, I suggest you go visit them.
Before visiting the temples, you must pay an entrance fee of $ 2 which also gives access to Praset Ek Phnom, Prasat Banan et Phnom Sampov.
PRASAT EK PHNOM
The temple of Ek phnom is located 12 km north of Battambang in the village of Takum. This temple dates from the 11th century, it is a Hindu temple.
You can admire a beautiful lintel of the churning of the Ocean of Milk.
Cambodians living near the temple like to go there during Buddhist ceremonies and traditional festivals. Nearby, you will see many water lilies and lotus.
The temple of Phnom Sampov is located 13 km of Battambang. We recommend you to visit this temple early morning or late afternoon to watch the sunset.
It takes about 2 hours to visit the site. You have to climb about 600 steps up to the pagoda at the top of the hill.
When you get to the top, you will see a Buddha lying down with the killings cave and ossuary, the pagoda and monkeys running around on the site.
The temple of Phnom Banan is located 25 km of Battambang. To enter the temple, there are stone stairs that will stand before you. To reach the top, you have to climb 358 steps of various sizes.
Reach the top you have a view of the countryside around the temple and you can visit the site. When you return to the parking, you can if you want to visit the caves that are locatedbehind the hill.
